Tour a Formal Potager Kitchen Garden in West University Place in Houston, Texas

These beautiful, two feet tall cedar gardens were created and designed in conjunction with the building of this West University home in 2018.

An avid cook, Anu, has utilized the fresh vegetables and herbs growing in her garden each day for her gourmet, healthy meals she prepares for her family.

We have continued to provide seasonal maintenance during the change of each season in Houston. Including adding fresh, organic compost, seeds and new organic plants in order to maximize the growing space.

Arch Trellises

Trellises are the finishing touch on all Rooted Garden designs and this extra wide arch trellis was no exception.

The garden space has a 4’ walkway, so this trellis provided the wider width necessary, while coordinating with the homes modern details.

Vining Vegetables Grow During Houston’s Warm Season

This arch trellis provides beauty and function during each of Houston’s growing seasons.

Cucumbers, part of the Cucurbit family, are aggressive growers that require a trellis at least 5’ tall to accommodate their growing. They also require regular pruning and fertilizing to keep them healthy and productive.

The Kitchen Garden Revival Book

The sold out, best seller is now back in stock and is the resource you need to set up your own raised kitchen gardens as shown here.

Inside Nicole Burke’s book, she talks to you like a friend she’s meeting up with for coffee, telling you embarrassing stories from her own gardening journey and guiding you through each step of your own.

If you’re just beginning in the garden, you’ll get a holistic perspective on the setup and habit of your plants, your soil, and your garden experience that will guide you as you garden season after season.

And if you’re an experienced gardener, you’ll get new insight into garden design, how to uplevel your planting and production, and even get new thoughts on the possibilities inside your space.

Few gardening books have been written by a self taught gardener who’s created hundreds of custom gardens for clients AND has gardened in multiple climates.

Gardening Brings People Together

This beautiful space is just waiting to be explored and appreciated by guests and family alike.

Gardening really does bring people together. Maybe it is your friend who stops over to see what is growing now in the garden, to your child who wants to help harvest tomatoes for dinner to the neighbor who receives the extra herb or lettuce harvest.
