What You Can Expect During a Rooted Garden Consultation

Rooted Garden has consulted with hundreds of client’s over the last 6 years and installed over 300 kitchen gardens. We are a turnkey installation company that specializes strictly in the design and installation of raised kitchen gardens that are both productive and beautiful. We promise you 52 garden harvests a year from your kitchen garden.

We work with client to create small gardens for courtyards in West University and large expansive gardens for extensive yards in Piney Point Village.

Step 1-Order a Garden Consultation

A garden consultation can be scheduled with a Rooted Garden consultant on our website, www.rootedgarden.com. Our online scheduling allows you to choose a day and time for your appointment.

Each consultation inside Beltway 8 includes an In person appointment, a garden design, garden sketch and exclusive Rooted Garden Four Seasons Guide for planting during each month of the year.

Step 2- The Kitchen Garden Consultation

The one hour consult begins with a tour through your landscape, an introduction to our best practices in setting up a thriving kitchen garden, and finally a discussion about the kitchen garden designs that best fit your budget, landscape and priorities.

This includes discussing the optimal location, ways to maximize space and how Rooted Garden incorporates the aesthetics and beauty of your home into each of our kitchen garden designs.

Step 3- We Provide A Garden Sketch and Estimate

After the consult, we’ll prepare a sketch of your preferred kitchen garden design as well as an estimate for both the materials and the installation.

A kitchen garden is an investment, with pricing starting at $5,000. Upon approval of the estimate, Rooted Garden handles every single aspect of your kitchen garden installation including removal of existing vegetation or hardscape, proper preparation for the garden, construction and installation of the raised bed structures, irrigation, specially mixed soil, plants and trellises (and even plant tags!).

We cover it all and just leave the harvests to you.

Step 4- Project Approval

Upon estimate approval, we get to work quickly to order the construction of your custom raised beds and schedule the installation of your garden as soon as possible. We know that the garden seasons wait for no one so we’ll work hard to get your garden installed within two to four weeks of your approval.

A few weeks prior to the installation we will send you a plant preference form allowing you to choose your vegetables and herbs that will be planted by the planting team on installation day.

The Installation and Beyond

On Installation day we begin work around 9:00 am and finish most single garden installations by 3:00 p.m. The Rooted Garden team handles all installation day details allowing you to enjoy the process beginning from removal of the hardscape, to installation of the gravel, garden beds, soil, trellises and plants.

The fun has only just begun. Your installation includes a garden walk through with our Garden Consultant. We’ll make sure you know what’s growing and understand the steps you’ll need to take to ensure kitchen garden success.

We offer garden coaching to teach alongside you in the garden as well as quarterly services where the team comes and does the hard work for you. Garden coaching is a hand’s on, working session with a garden coach teaching you and answering your questions. Our quarterly services for new compost and plants at the start of each new season.
